SINGING FOR SOUNDS

Early Years Language Development Programme

A fun, flexible and adaptable song and activity programme for teachers, support staff and parents/carers from nursery upwards.

Through a combination of actions, rhymes and mouth and tongue exercises, the songs and activities support children's speech and communication development.

"My child has really enjoyed Singing for Sounds. He comes home singing all the sounds. Thank you."

"It is amazing how she can pronounce those sounds. I am very proud of her and I can see a huge progress."

"My child has improved her English speaking. She shows and even teaches me how to make sounds, put the mouth to say letters."

"Rachel really loved and speaks a lot about the session. Especially socks and sausages. Thanks once again."

Testimonials

Singing Sounds was a ten week programme that had a positive effect on all  Reception children at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School.

The children's enthusiasm and excitement were apparent as the sessions began to unfold. We observed the children's confidence grow as the quiet children offered their own ideas and even sang on their own in front of the familiar group. The children learnt how to present themselves  in front of an audience and the importance of eye contact and keeping their mouths visible.

The programme was adapted to meet the needs of each group concentrating on phoneme pronunciation and exercises to help the children to form the sounds correctly.

We were delighted with this programme and will use again once our Baseline assessment is complete to promote and develop accurate speech and language.
